VENEZUELA IS BACK! Guaranteed departure Eastern and Western Venezuela tours in 2025

Birdquest has been operating birding tours to Venezuela since the 1980s. This is a marvellous country for birding, with a host of endemics,  so it was with great sadness that we had to cease offering the place during the turbulent years of the ‘Bolivarian Revolution’.

Now the revolutionary fervour has ebbed away and while Venezuela is a poorer country than before, it has become more stable. As a result, tourism is restarting and birding tours are possible once more.

In early 2025 we have both our Eastern Venezuela and Western Venezuela tours on offer. Both tours are already guaranteed departures, but we do still have some places available. Our Eastern Venezuela tour includes an extension to remote Mount Roraimna, a place Birdquest pioneered, as trekking to Mount Roraima is not for everyone, whereas the rest of the tour is mostly easy and fine for birders of a range of fitness levels.

The two tours can be combined, if you wish, to create an ‘Ultimate Venezuela’ birding experience that will produce the vast majority of Venezuela’s many endemics.
