Far North Luzon, Calayan & Samar Expedition 2025

In 2025 only, we are planning to make a special Birdquest Expedition to some rarely visited birding locations including the far north of Luzon, Calayan Island off northern Luzon and Samar Island in the Visayans. Major target endemics will include Calayan Rail, Northern Rufous Hornbill, Samar Crow, Sierra Madre Crow, Cordillera Ground Warbler, Visayan Pygmy Babbler and Visayan Miniature Babbler (or Leyte Plumed-warbler). The expedition will also record numerous other endemics and offers catch-up chances for the likes of Visayan (Wattled) Broadbill, White-lored Oriole, White-fronted Tit etc etc.

It will be possible to combine this expedition with the Philippines with a Difference tour in 2025. We are also considering adding other locations for further rarely-seen endemics.
