The Ultimate In Birding Tours

New: Uncharted Mexico Expedition in May-June 2021

October 25, 2020

We are going to be running some exciting Birdquest Expeditions during 2021, focusing on countries that have already reopened for travel (including Mexico, Colombia and Brazil). We still have over 300 Birdquest Lifers out there, so there are plenty of opportunities!

One of these special expeditions is going to target almost all the remaining Birdquest Lifers in mainland Mexico, visiting both the northeast and southwest of this marvellous birding country in the process.

The 14 main targets are Bearded Wood Partridge, Tawny-collared Nightjar, White-fronted Swift, Short-crested Coquette, White-tailed Hummingbird, Tuxtla Quail-Dove, Tamaulipas Pygmy Owl, Blue-capped Motmot, Bronze-winged Woodpecker, Maroon-fronted Parrot, Worthen’s Sparrow, Ochre (or Fuertes’s) Oriole, Altamira Yellowthroat and Crimson-collared Grosbeak.

The provisional expedition dates are 20 May-2 June in Northeast Mexico, with an extension to southwest Mexico until 10 June. (We need to operate this tour in the late spring/early summer as the Maroon-fronted Parrots only return to their montane breeding sites in the first half of May, while White-fronted Swifts are also more reliable then.) We have an excellent local Mexican leader lined up.

There are only 2 places still available on the expedition and we can hold space for anyone interested until the formal expedition details are published. Please contact our office to reserve a spot.
