The Ultimate In Birding Tours

Livingstone Kalema

Livingstone Kalema was born and raised in Uganda and lives with his partner Lorna and their children in Kampala. His love for birds started at an early age, and that encouraged him to study for a diploma in tourism. He is a founder member of the Bird Guides Association of Uganda, has served on various nature conservation committees and has served on a number of guide training programmes across East Africa. He was first trained as a bird guide by the Uganda National Parks service and has been leading birding tours in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda for the best part of two decades. His ability to locate and identify birds and mammals, especially in dense forests, his enthusiasm and lovely manner make him a popular guide for both birding and photographic tours in the region. Livingstone made a big contribution to the success of Chris Gooddie in finding Green-breasted Pitta in Uganda, part of his round the world pitta-quest described in The Jewel Hunter.
