Yes, we have made it! The last few needed species to reach 10,000 were recorded on our inaugural El Triunfo tour, guided by Mark Van Beirs and Mark Beaman, in southern Mexico in February 2014, and the weird and wonderful Horned Guan was species number 10,000!

9998: Prevost's Ground Sparrow

9999: Emerald-chinned Hummingbird

10000: Horned Guan

This is an amazing milestone! No other birding tour company in the world has achieved this, and indeed none are close! It took us nearly 33 years and well over 1000 tours to get there!

And we have already started working our way through 'The Final Five Hundred' species, reaching around 10,050 to date, partly thanks to a bit more splitting by the IOC.

Now this is truly a strange but handsome critter! (Mark Beaman)
