Two very special birds made for a great finale to the trip. Firstly the amazing Scale-feathered Malkoha (Pete Morris)
... and the vivid Spotted Wood-Kingfisher (Pete Morris)
... a spectacular end to a wonderful tour (Pete Morris)
Whiskered Treeswift. Widespread in SE Asia, but nevertheless a stunner (photo Simon Harrap).
Malaysian Plover, St Paul's, Palawan. Rather scarce as its favoured sandy beaches are also attractive to beach bums! (photo Simon Harrap).
Steere's Pitta, PICOP, Mindanao. One of the easiest pittas to see well (photo Simon Harrap).
Stripe-headed Rhabornis, Luzon, Philippines. These tree-top endemics are hard to photograph (photo Simon Harrap).
Spotted Imperial Pigeon is one of the rarer pigeons, only seen 2-3 times in 15 or more tours to the Philippines. Yellow-breasted Fruit-Dove is rather commoner. Both are rather wet! (photo Simon Harrap).
Mindanao Wattled Broadbill, PICOP, Philippines. A poor shot, but a great bird (photo Simon Harrap).
Philippine Cockatoo, Rasa Island, Philippines. One of the most endangered birds in the Philippines, and hard to see away from Rasa island off Palawan (photo Simon Harrap).
