At mid-altitudes, we found another suite of goodies including several stunning Red Orioles (split from Maroon Oriole) - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
Taiwan Barbets (a recent split from Black-browed Barbet) were also common here - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
And we found several White-bellied (or Japanese) Green-Pigeons - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
At lower altitudes, the endemic Styan's Bulbul is extremely common - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
An area of agriculture near to Taitung yielded several good birds including the endemic form of Common Pheasant - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
Also in the fields were numerous Oriental Pratincoles - near Taitung, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
Our visit to Lanyu was focused around seeing a small set of endemic 'forms' all of which were easily found. This Lanyu Scops Owl (a potential split from Ryukyu Scops Owl) was found late in the afternoon, thus saving valuable drinking time! - Lanyu, Taiwan 2008 (Pete Morris)
