The second installment of this recently created tour produced the goods once again. The addition of the highly rated Kaeng Krachan National Park massively boosting our tally on this relatively short South-East Asian tour, which focuses on the extensive gulf wetlands and famous national parks of Thailand, the amazing Angkor Wat, large waterbird colonies and floodplain grasslands of the Tonle Sap, and the dry-wooded northern plains of Cambodia. Our foremost highlights included Silver Pheasant, Siamese Fireback, Grey Peacock-Pheasant, Greater Adjutant, White-shouldered Ibis, Giant Ibis, Chinese Egret, Sarus Crane, Bengal Florican, White-faced and Malaysian Plovers, Far Eastern Curlew, Asian Dowitcher, Nordmann's Greenshank, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Spotted Wood Owl, Tickell’s (or Southern) Brown Hornbill, White-rumped Falcon, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Manchurian Reed Warbler, Limestone Wren-Babbler, Spot-necked Babbler, Spot-winged Starling, and Asian Golden Weaver. Coral-billed Ground Cuckoo and White-fronted Scops Owl were only to be heard unfortunately on this occasion! Mammals were also very good this time, with two bull Asian Elephants, Yellow-throated Marten, Indochinese Leaf Monkey and Lesser Mouse-Deer to name but a few.
