Welcome to Birdquest
This tour was second part of our fantastic 32-day extravaganza that visited both Burma and Arunachal Pradesh. Like the first half of the trip, it was very successful and hugely enjoyable, but with quite a different setting and pace to Burma, and a very different climate. Among the many highlights were a stunning Gould’s Shortwing that emerged on our final morning at Eaglenest, the rare and recently discovered Bugun Liocichla, Green and Purple Cochoas, a confiding Temminck’s Tragopan, Greater Adjutant, Grey Peacock Pheasant, Himalayan Monal, Solitary Snipe, a pair of Ward’s Trogon, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Collared Treepie, Beautiful Nuthatch, Large Blue Flycatcher, Rufous-breasted Bush Robin, Bhutan, Scaly and Spotted Laughingthrushes, Black-headed Shrike-babbler, Golden-breasted and Ludlow’s Fulvettas, Brown, Grey-breasted, Lesser Rufous-headed and White-breasted Parrotbills, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Sikkim Wedge-billed Babbler, Long-billed, Rufous-throated and Eye-browed Wren Babbler, Broad-billed and White-spectacled Warblers, Blanford’s Rosefinch, Crimson-browed and Gold-naped Finches. We recorded 414 species, including 16 heard only.
