Our Christmas tour to Ecuador was both highly enjoyable and extremely successful. We recorded an unbelievable number of excellent specialities in a very short space of time!
We started our tour with a journey from El Jardin Lodge to the Yanacocha Reserve owned by the Jocotoco foundation, an NGO that protects endangered and endemic species in Ecuador. Before arriving we noted a group of Brown-bellied Swallows nesting at the water company house and a few seconds later a single Streak-throated Bush-Tyrant was flycatching as we got back in the bus to carry on to Yanacocha - a magical place located on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano...
